The theme of scripture that I have been reading recently is HOPE. Two scriptures have been in my head for weeks and both bring me such a deep sense of hope for what I am facing in my life. May these encourage you as they have me.
Exodus 14:14 “The Lord will fight for you, you need only be still.” Whatever it is you are facing, take it to God, step into the silence, be still… He will fight for you. He is fighting for this world every day!
The second is a longer passage found in Lamentations 3. This is The Message version.
25-27 God proves to be good to the man who passionately waits,
to the woman who diligently seeks.
It’s a good thing to quietly hope,
quietly hope for help from God.
It’s a good thing when you’re young
to stick it out through the hard times.
28-30 When life is heavy and hard to take,
go off by yourself. Enter the silence.
Bow in prayer. Don’t ask questions:
Wait for hope to appear.
Don’t run from trouble. Take it full-face.
The “worst” is never the worst.
(Bold emphasis added by me)
What is it that you need God to fight for in your life? What do you need God to help you with? What areas of your life to do you need to let go of control and give God the reigns?
Enter the silence, be still, He will come through.
